Toastmasters District (D45) Alliance team are going to be encouraging local Toastmaster Clubs and Rotary Clubs to visit each others' meetings between Feb 23 and March 24. This provides an opportunity for our club to get to know local Toastmasters with the potential to work with them on Rotary service projects, provide speakers at meetings, and connect with a new network to find potential members and Friends of Rotary. |

Mental Health in Developing Countries

Matthew Dickson helps people with mental illness in developing countries so they can get access to basic mental health care at MindAid.ca.
Mind Aid is the world's first website with all the organizations working on mental health in developing countries on one site (they are otherwise scattered across the web).
These organizations use models of basic mental health care that are low-cost, proven effective, and scalable.
Some of these organizations have been endorsed by Bill Clinton, Forest Whitaker, Arcade Fire, Ashley Judd, as well as Zak Williams (son of Robin Williams) and Tim Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics.

NB Power: Small Modular Reactors

Paul has spent over 44 years in the Nuclear Power industry and has previously held the positions of NB Power Deputy chief Nuclear Officer, as well as being the NB Power member on the CANDU Owners Group Board of Directors and the Advisory board for the Centre for Nuclear Energy Research.
Since retiring from NB Power Paul has worked on contract with NB Power, as the Senior Strategic Advisor for the Advanced Reactor Development team at NB Power, providing strategic advice, interface with the industry, and responsible for oversight of areas involving nuclear fuel and radioactive waste. He was a member of the Steering Committee that developed the Pan-Canadian SMR Roadmap, the CEO SMR Forum Working group, the COG SMR Technology forum and the team supporting the Inter-Provincial MOU on SMRs.
Paul has twice held the position of President of the Canadian Nuclear Society and is recognized as a Fellow of the Canadian Nuclear Society. In June 2020, Paul received the Canadian Nuclear Society/Canadian Nuclear Association Harold A. Smith Award for Outstanding Achievement. |
